The YouTube Posts Tab: How to Use It for Growth in 2026
How to use it for growth, loyalty and feedback.
A Tool for Loyalty, Engagement and Direct Contact With Your Audience
Many creators still see YouTube only as video hosting. But in 2026 YouTube is a full social ecosystem where text and visual interaction matter no less than the videos themselves. The key tool here is the Posts tab (formerly “Community”).
What the Posts Tab Is and When It Appears
The Posts tab is available to channels with advanced features enabled (which requires phone verification), no policy violations and not set as “Made for Kids”. There is no minimum subscriber count. It is a feed of publications that lets you communicate with your audience in the post format familiar from other social networks.
Types of posts:
- Text posts: thoughts, news, micro-articles.
- Polls: text and image polls.
- Images and GIF animations: for visual storytelling.
- Videos: reposts of your new releases or recommendations of other people’s content.
- Quizzes: an interactive way to test your audience’s knowledge.
Why the Posts Tab Is Critical for Reach
1. An algorithmic boost. Posts can reach people who aren’t subscribed but are interested in similar topics. Likes and poll votes are engagement signals (YouTube doesn’t disclose the exact rules of how posts are shown). The more active people are in Posts, the more often your videos will be recommended to them.
2. Contact 24/7. Making a quality video takes time. The Posts tab lets you stay in your subscribers’ view every day without spending hours on editing.
3. Forming a “core” of loyalty. Posts create a feeling of personal conversation. People subscribe to content but stay for the person. Posts are the best way to “humanize” an expert or business channel.
4. Direct analytics at no cost. Polls let you instantly test an idea for your next video. You no longer film “into the void.” You make what the audience has already confirmed with its vote.
What and How to Post: 5 Working Formats
Format #1: Interactive polls. “Which AI tool did you introduce into your work this month?” “What should I review: failures or fast growth?” Polls are the most viral type of content in 2026. They deliver huge reach thanks to the simplicity of the action.
Format #2: “Behind the scenes” and personal insights. “Today we tested a new strategy for an RHEI client, and here is what I noticed…” Share the process. A behind-the-scenes photo or a short thought about a book you’ve read brings you closer to your audience than a polished studio shot.
Format #3: Smart announcements. Instead of a plain “A video is out,” build a teaser:
“In the new video I talked about 5 trends, but one of them (about licensing content for AI) is the most controversial. Shall we discuss it?” This raises the CTR of the click from the posts feed to the video.
Format #4: Extra value. “With yesterday’s video I’m attaching a checklist that didn’t make the edit. Grab it in the comments.” This strengthens your status as an expert who gives more than promised.
Format #5: Handling objections and FAQ. Answer frequent questions from the comments in a separate post. This shows you hear your audience.
How to Run the Posts Tab Systematically
- Consistency: at least 2–3 posts a week. This keeps your channel “warmed up.”
- Planning: include posts in your overall content plan. A post in Posts is a unit of content just like Shorts.
- Dialogue: always reply to the first comments under a post. This encourages further discussion.
- Analysis: regularly check YouTube Analytics > the Posts tab to understand which formats give more reach.
Common Mistakes
- Using it only for links. If your feed contains only links to videos, reach will drop. There must be unique content.
- Being too formal. Write simpler. Posts are about life and quick thoughts, not press releases.
How to Implement This Without Extra Load
As part of my work strategy with clients we turn the Posts tab into an autonomous funnel:
- We create templates for your style.
- We generate engaging polls based on niche analytics.
- We synchronize posts with business goals (sales, leads, traffic).
Want your channel to work systematically? If you understand that developing YouTube takes time you could spend on your business, entrust it to professionals. Strategy, analytics and systematic growth.
Posts created “for your own people” help form the core of your audience. People feel that behind the channel stands a living person, not just a content machine.
